How would you describe your research project in the UBC Rehabilitation Sciences program?

I completed my PhD focusing on self-efficacy, mobility, and participation among wheelchair users, with Dr. Bill Miller. My experiences during the program were excellent. I learned about evidence-based practice and the nuances of rehabilitation research. As well, I was provided with excellent opportunities to publish papers and present research at various conferences. Importantly, during this time, I also developed outstanding professional and personal relationships with other trainees, many of whom, I still collaborate with today.

Where and what is your current position?

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy and an Investigator with the Centre for Chronic Disease Prevention and Management at The University of British Columbia.

How do you like to spend your free time?

I spend all my free time taking my kids to their activities, and I love it!
