Program: Master of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences (MSc)
Supervisor: Dr. Brodie Sakakibara
Tell us a little bit about your lab!
The Sakakibara Research Lab focuses on chronic disease management and prevention among people with stroke, and on the delivery of health and rehabilitation services using technology.
What project are you currently working on?
My project focuses on the use of telerehabilitation for lower extremity recovery post-stroke using the TRAIL program. I’ve been working with the Canadian Partnership for Stroke Recovery (CPSR)’s CanStroke Recovery Trials platform to recruit participants from across the country to ultimately work towards contributing to more accessible rehabilitation services for all individuals with stroke.
What do you like to do outside of academia?
I love playing (virtual) board games and video games, taking power naps, procrasti-vacuuming, and exploring the newest food places around Vancouver.
Congratulations Sarah on being our featured Student of the Month for August! Interested in seeing what else our Rehabilitation Sciences students and trainees are working on? Stay tuned for our next feature!
